 Session types for TODOS 2018

Impact Sessions (120 minutes)will set the tone the first morning of the conference. Six simultaneous 2-hour “Impact Sessions,” each addressing a different topic related to the conference themes, will be held. Conference participants will also have an end-of-day opportunity to reunite and debrief with the Impact Session leaders and participants. More information on Impact Sessions.

Investigate Sessions(90 minutes) are designed to engage participants in their exploration of ideas with opportunities to learn from others and consider implementation in different contexts. More information on Investigate Sessions.

Imagine Sessions (40 minutes) engage participants in the radical imagination of the possibilities for educational advocacy and justice with a short-burst session showcasing research, projects, or innovations connecting such ideas to participant’s practice. More information on Imagine Sessions.

Innovate Sessions (60 minutes) provide opportunities to share innovative and effective ideas, strategies, or resources that will influence practice in PreK-12 classrooms, professional development settings for teachers or leaders, or teacher education programs. Ignite Presentations, very energizing, impactful, and sometimes entertaining, will focus on a powerful insight related to meeting the needs of ALL learners. The TODOS 2018 Ignite Session will be held during lunch on Friday, June 22nd. Listen to  Cynthia Anhalt, Jennifer Bay-Williams, Sylvia Celedón-Pattichis, Carlos LópezLeiva, and Chadd McGlone.

Saturday Lunch Panel Basta! (Enough is enough!)  Reclaiming our right to relate with our students and communities.

  • Moving Beyond Awareness, Engaging in Social Justice in Mathematics

  • Opening Gates: Advocacy and Activism in Mathematics Education for ALL

Important Information and Dates

Registration Information

  • Conference registration is now open. The conference fee is $400 and includes conference materials and the following meals:
    • Thursday ~ Reception with hor d'oeuvres
    • Friday ~ continental breakfast and lunch
    • Saturday ~ continental breakfast and lunch
  • Registration will be capped, so don't delay your registration!
  • Refund Policy:  A $50.00 non-refundable administrative fee will be assessed for any cancellation made by May 15th,  2018No refunds will be offered after this date.  TODOS membership dues are nonrefundable. 


  • Housing reservations are now open
  • A block of rooms at a special conference rate has been reserved at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort.
  • The special rate is available to conference attendees two days before and two days after the conference on a space-available basis.


  • Super Shuttle provides shuttle service for a fee.  Check
  • Uber and Lyft are also available.
  • There is a Hertz car rental desk in the hotel.  The rates may be less than renting a car at the airport.
  • Free self-parking at the resort.
  • The Scottsdale Trolley  provides free rides around Scottsdale.

  • Scottsdale has shopping, many fine restaurants and several breweries, with easy access via the Trolley.
  • Restaurants and shopping across the street from Scottsdale Plaza Resort.

  • Scottsdale Fashion Square, which is a major mall, is 3 miles south.
  • Old Town Scottsdale with shops and restaurants is about 4 miles south.
