It is March, the month where the spring equinox occurs in the Northern hemisphere. It is a time where I begin to anticipate spring. Each spring I am in awe; I live in a place where it appears that Mother Earth sleeps for 4 - 6 months each year; that is some plants have died, some plants are ‘resting’, the animals live in different ways, and Mother Earth is blanketed with snow. I live in awe and wonder each year as the plants and animals ‘return’ through the trees budding, the migration of birds, and plants sprouting. ... Go to the President's full message.

Congratulate TODOS on its 20th Anniversary by purchasing an ad in the TODOS 2023 Conference online program and sending a message of acknowledgement for all of its efforts over these years to advocate for equity and high quality mathematics for all students. TODOS Live! Tomorrow at 4:00 PM

The TODOS Live! session tomorrow, Tuesday, March 21, is titled Developing Powerful and Supportive Mathematical Groupwork presented by Anthony Muro Villa III. Groupwork is a powerful educational tool and has the potential to offer students authority over their own thinking processes and develop language and communication skills. Register now!

TODOS Live! April 25

The TODOS Live! session originally scheduled for January 18 has been rescheduled to Tuesday, April 25 at 4:00 PM Pacific time. Presented by Amanda Ruiz, Eva Thanheiser, Basil Conway, and Odesma Dalrymple and titled Social Justice Math in the Middle School Classroom, the speakers will offer a working definition and related ideas to what social justice math could look like in a middle school classroom. TODOS Election Results

Congratulations to the newly elected TODOS Officers: Marian Dingle, President-Elect; and Ji Yeong I and Brandie Waid, Directors. Marian will serve as President-Elect for one year, then President for two years, and followed by Past President for one year. Directors will serve a term of three years. All terms of office begin on May 1, 2023. Thanks to all 35% of TODOS members who voted in this election!

TODOS Iris M. Carl Awards: Deadline Is March 31

Nominate colleagues for the TODOS Equity and Leadership Award and the TODOS Equity in Teaching Award. This is your opportunity to acknowledge all of the efforts your colleagues have made to advance social justice in mathematics education or mathematics teaching. 20th Anniversary: CEMELA-CPTM-TODOS Conference

TODOS, along with the Center for the Mathematics Education of Latinos/as (CEMELA) and the Center for Proficiency in Teaching Mathematics (CPTM), co-sponsored a 2½ day conference, Practitioners and Researchers Learning Together: A National Conference on the Mathematics Teaching and Learning of Latinos/as held March 4-6, 2010 in Tucson, AZ, with 150 participants.
