Some might wonder why organizations such as TODOS make statements about Black Lives Matter, voter suppression laws, and Asian hate. Some might argue that mathematics organizations should stay out of politics and not take stances. If we care about the social-emotional well-being and mental health of our children and their families or caretakers, then we must not remain silent. TODOS 2021 Conference Begins Tomorrow!

It’s not too late to register for the TODOS 2021 Virtual Conference. In addition to sessions, there will be networking opportunities including Coffee Talk, Meditation, Chill with TODOS, Wine Tasting, Campfire with TODOS, Watcha Readin’/Watchin’/Listenin’ to?, Scattergories, and Affinity Groups. There will also be a TODOS Salsa Party each day!

Annual TODOS Members’ Meeting

TODOS will hold its Annual Members’ Meeting on Wednesday, June 23 at 2:15 pm Pacific Time. Although the meeting is part of the TODOS 2021 Virtual Conference, you do not need to attend the conference to attend the meeting. A feature of the members’ meeting is a presentation of TODOS’ accomplishments. Here is the zoom link to the Members’ Meeting.

TODOS Leadership Institute Begins This Thursday!

The TODOS 2021 Leadership Institute begins this Thursday, June 24. All presenters are passionate about taking action for equity in mathematics education. They have a multitude of ideas on how to be change agents and are eager to hear about your ideas and passions. Click on the link for questions about registration or institute content.

The newest issue of TEEM, Vol. 12, No. 2 is now available! Download your copy now. You can also access this document on the TODOS website by logging into your TODOS account. The next issue of TEEM will be a special themed issue: Antiracism in Mathematics Education. Go to page 33 of TEEM Vol. 12, No. 2, for information on the Call for Submissions.

TODOS Booth at CAMT 2021

Are you attending the Conference for the Advancement of Mathematics Teaching (CAMT) 2021 that will be held July 19-21? TODOS will have a virtual booth, so take the time to visit it. There will be dedicated exhibit hours from 8:00 am – 10:00 am Central Time daily July 19-21. The conference website for attendees has many features for networking and connecting with people who have similar interests. 

TODOS Summer Events with JRMF

The Julia Robinson Mathematics Festival (JRMF) is excited to be partnering with TODOS to host a series of fun math events this summer. There are two JRMF & TODOS for Kids, Grades 3-8 (English and Spanish) and two JRMF & TODOS Game Nights for Adults (English and Spanish). Sign up today. All events are in July. New Opportunities to Modernize Math

Through recent improvements, higher education systems are more involved to diversify college math pathways to align with students’ programs of study. K-12 systems are following suit. For this month’s blog, Just Equations Founder and Executive Director Pamela Burdman reflects on the work math professor Uri Treisman and his team at the Dana Center have done to reimagine math pathways.
