The TODOS 2020 Preconference promises to be engaging and transforming focusing on experiences for Change Agents. Submit Your Students’ Artwork by February 28th

Encourage your students to design the cover of the TODOS 2020 Conference Program Book. Create a “poster”  (8.5" x 11") that reflects the mission and goals of TODOS. Submit artwork electronically and mail posters, c/o TODOS Poster Contest, to P.O. Box 25482, Tempe, AZ 85285-5482. Deadline is February 28, 2020! See contest details.

Need Financial Support for TODOS 2020 Conference? 

Looking for support to attend TODOS 2020? TODOS is offering two awards for PK-12 educators to support attendance. View out the criteria and submit your application by March 1st. (1) 2020 Cathy Kinzer Memorial Professional Development Award (must be a TODOS member as of September 1, 2019). (2) TODOS 2020 Teacher Award (must be a TODOS member as of January 1, 2020).

TODOS Elections Deadline in Nine Days

Have you voted for the two TODOS Director candidates of your choice? The four candidates for the position are the following: Nichole Lindgren, Stephanie Livers, Luz A. Maldonado Rodríguez, and James Sheldon. Read the candidate statements about their professional and leadership experiences. Submit your vote today by scrolling down to “Go to the ballot.” All ballots must be submitted by Saturday, February 29th.

TODOS Booth at NCTM Centennial

Are you attending NCSM March 30th - April 1st and/or NCTM Centennial April 1-4 to be held in Chicago IL? If so, consider signing up to volunteer a two-hour shift (or more) at the TODOS Booth. You will meet many people and can encourage them to become members of TODOS. Communicating your commitment to the mission and goals of TODOS can be a selling point to gain new members. Nominations Sought for TODOS Iris Carl Awards

The Iris Carl Equity Committee is seeking nominations for two awards: the TODOS Iris M. Carl Equity in Teaching Award and the TODOS Iris M. Carl Equity and Leadership Award. The honorees are mathematics educators who have made significant contributions to the quality of math education for all students, in particular Latina/o students. The awardees will be honored at the TODOS 2020 Conference. Nomination Packets are due March 15th to the co-chairs.

TODOS-MET Grant Recipients

Congratulations to the following two schools who received the TODOS MET Grant, Fostering Support of Mathematics Learning in Multilingual Classrooms for their proposals: (1) Davis Bilingual Magnet Elementary School (K-5) in Tucson, AZ (Matemátic@s bilingües: Supporting Integration of Language and Culture in the Mathematics Classroom) and Colton High School (9-12) in Colton, CA (Bridging Teacher Learning with Student Learning Through Language and Culture in Mathematics). Place an Ad in the TODOS 2020 Program Book

The TODOS 2020 Conference is soliciting ads from individuals, institutions, and companies to be placed in the Conference Program Book. Encourage your institution to support TODOS by placing an ad. The cost of the black and white ads are: 1/8 page for $60, 1/4 page for $100, 1/2 page ad for $150, and full-page ad for $280. Submit your request today! Send the camera-ready copy to TODOS-AD by April 17, 2020. Contact the editor for additional information or questions.

AMTE Professional Book Series: Vol. 4 Released

The Mathematics Teacher Education Partnership” provides an overview of a body of work conducted over the past seven years related to the preparation of secondary mathematics teachers by the MTE-Partnership, a Networked Improvement Community. The book addresses key challenges in preparing secondary mathematics teachers. See the flyer for details. 

Three Day Institute for Teachers of Color 

The 2020 Institute for Teachers of Color (ITOC) will be held June 25-27, 2020 at UC Riverside. ITOC serves educators, teachers, and teacher educators with advanced racial literacies who demonstrate capacity for racial justice leadership in public schools. The disciplinary strand of mathematics will be led by Rochelle Gutiérrez of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Deadline to apply is March 8th.
