While we cannot solve all the issues in our schooling system, we can understand how mathematics education plays a role in exacerbating or solving those problems. We can accept our responsibilities to acknowledge the disparities, act, and hold ourselves and each other accountable.

TODOS 2021 Conference Is Going Virtual!
The TODOS leadership is excited to announce that we will transition our June 2021 Conference to a virtual conference. The shift to a virtual experience has just begun. We anticipate that many of our accepted speakers will present, our planned activities will be re-shaped, and new sessions and formats will be created to result in engagement and learning for all. Stay tuned for a detailed announcement of the features and dates of our summer 2021 virtual event.

The TODOS Board wants a broad representation of TODOS membership to enrich its discussions, inquiries, and decisions. Apply NOW! TODOS-MET Grant
TODOS and NCTM are funding Fostering Support of Mathematics Learning in Multilingual Classrooms, which provides financial assistance to PreK-12 schools for in-service to increase understanding and expertise in fostering support of multi-language development in mathematics. Grant maximum: $4000. The applicant must have at least one current NCTM member and one current TODOS member who teaches at the school. Deadline is November 1st.

TEEM Vol. 11, No. 3 Is Now Available
The second issue of a two-part Teaching for Excellence and Equity in Mathematics (TEEM) titled Special Issue on Multilingual Learners: Multilingual Practices is now available. This issue focuses on classroom-based interventions and pre-service teacher education. The first issue, Special Issue on Multilingual Learners: Translanguaging, was published in August. Both issues are also posted on the TODOS website in the members' area. You'll need to log into your account to access it.

Opportunity for Funding Through MET Grant
Looking for funding for a project, coursework, or professional development? The MET Grants application portal is now open for the winter cycle of grants, scholarships, and awards. Applications are due by November 1st. MET has nearly 30 different grants available to NCTM Members to meet your needs. Included are scholarships and awards for preservice teachers, coursework and scholarships for in-service teachers, professional development grants, and research grants.

A Pathway to Equitable Math Instruction
The Education Trust–West, in collaboration with teachers, instructional coaches, researchers, professional development providers, and curriculum writers released A Pathway to Equitable Math Instruction. This toolkit centers Black, Latinx, and Multilingual students in grades 6-8, addresses barriers to math equity, and aligns instruction to grade-level priority standards. It offers guidance and resources for educators to plan their curriculum, while also offering opportunities for ongoing self-reflection.

WestEd Study for 8th Grade Algebra 1 Teachers
Are you an Algebra 1 math teacher? WestEd would like to invite teachers of 8th grade Algebra 1 to access FREE distance learning online software resources that may be able to support your students’ in-class/at-home Algebra learning. The Graspable Mathematics (GM) software is a digital algebra notation tool that allows students to dynamically experiment with algebraic expressions. Learning Mathematics in the 21st Century
Learning Mathematics in the 21st Century: Adding Technology to the Equation, a book written in Spanish and English, seeks to answer: how can governments in Latin America and the Caribbean improve mathematics learning using technology? The book focuses on utilizing technology to improve mathematics learning in primary schools in the region. Alejandra Sorto contributed to two chapters!
