Have You Voted for the TODOS Directors?

Have you voted in the TODOS elections yet? There's a week left to vote. Two candidates are on the ballot for two Director positions: Theodore Chao and Trevor Warburton. You should have received a ballot from Election Buddy, a third party site, on February 1. Check your junk folder if you haven’t received it. Contact the Nominations and Elections Chair with questions regarding the elections. Deadline is February 28.

Visit and Staff TODOS Booth in Indianapolis

The NCTM Regionals in Indianapolis will be held March 16-18. Stop by the TODOS Booth. Better yet, volunteer to staff the booth. If you are not attending but would like to staff the booth for six hours or more, and you live in the area, TODOS has an exhibitor’s badge. Contact the editor by March 1 if you are interested. TODOS needs someone to be at the booth on Friday, March 18 from 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM.

TODOS-CASIO Webinar on Data Literacy

The final TODOS-CASIO Webinar on data literacy is Data Literacy in Early Childhood Mathematics Classrooms by Jennifer Ward and Courtney Koestler on Wednesday, February 23 at 4:00 PM Pacific. What does it mean to become data literate for children? What does data literacy look like in early childhood and elementary spaces? The presenters will discuss productive ways to engage children in data generation, collection, organization, analysis, and presentation. Register today!

Manipulative Use With ELLs; Numberblocks

Let’s give ELL students something to talk about. Manipulatives are multisensory concrete or virtual objects used to support student comprehension of mathematical concepts. See the blog that supports the thoughtful, consistent use of manipulatives, coupled with quality instruction. Hand2mind has partnered with Numberblocks, the global hit TV series out of the UK used by most teachers there. Mathematics of Opportunity Conference

Just Equations announces the Fourth Annual Mathematics of Opportunity Conference: Charting a Path to Equity to be held March 1-3. To prepare all students for higher education and 21st century careers, math must serve as a stepping stone, not a stopping point, on a student's journey. This virtual conference (held 10:00 am - 2:00 pm Pacific daily) will highlight how math education can be a force for equity and engagement. Registration is free and space is limited.
